An iconic international qualifications provider enters a new market with new customers selling new products.

Despite successfully expanding into international markets the company’s core UK domain was beginning to falter with changes to government funding, increasing price-driven competition and the growth of own-label training provision. Management identified and profiled a new, fast growing market segment it wanted to enter quickly to secure first-mover advantage. Management turned to Focus Solutions for assistance.

Our approach was to enhance not substitute or duplicate the marketing team. We supported the development of a market segmentation model, customer analysis, competitor analysis, co-ordinating product development and making commercial judgements about pricing, channel management and advertising. We took the lead on creating the overarching product portfolio strategy, financial model and performance metrics for the UK Board.

Market entry was approved by the Board and investment secured for the Business Leader.

Market entry was successful and within six-months had generated revenue £250k+ with a healthy sales pipeline.
